Venturing out of our sylvan retreat to the city of Inverness, we are greeted
by Inverness Castle, sitting high on a hill above the city center. Only a
small portion of the castle is open to the public, as it is a working castle,
in use for the Sheriff Court of Inverness. Unlike American sheriffs, a
sheriff in Scotland is a judge, usually assigned to a particular court.
