Material for this site has been provided by and for
the English as a Second Language students at A.J. Briesemeister
Middle School in Seguin, Texas. The ESL classes are 7th and 8th
grade together, with English proficiency levels ranging from
beginner to advanced. Whether recent immigrants or coming to
middle school from 6th grade bilingual classes, most of these
students are experiencing all-English classes for the first time.
All of them are in English-language content classes, having to
meet the challenge of learning English as they master academic
skills and concepts.
